Christmas Is About Generosity

As part of our annual Help Hands initiative, we are encouraging our church community to make time to serve others in and throughout Langley this Christmas. Christmas at Creekstone Place

Creekstone Place is Langley’s first supportive housing unit.  It has become a safe place to call home for 49 people who had previously lived on the streets of Langley. This Christmas, we have an opportunity to show love and care to each resident of Creekstone Place, as well as every staff member who is serving to meet the needs of this unique community, through the simple act of handwriting a Christmas card and attaching a small gift of home baking. If you have a love of writing, a gift for encouraging or enjoy baking and would like to be a part of this wonderful opportunity to touch the hearts of “the least of these” at this special time of the year, please sign up.

SIGN UP (please note, the Christmas card spots are filled, but we are still in need of baking)

Encompass Best Babies Christmas Baskets

Contributions due by November 30th

This year Encompass welcomes you to help the families in their Best Babies program celebrate Christmas together at home. In lieu of the usual seasonal party thrown for their members, the organizers have decided to create beautiful baskets full of fun activities and we would like to contribute to their 25 Christmas baskets. In their work, they have realized how mothering through the Pandemic has increased isolation and stress.

Living waters would like to curate gifts that will bless mothers and pamper them. To that end, we would ask for the following contributions:

  • Cozy box: fuzzy blanket, sleepers or socks/mug with hot chocolate, cookies or popcorn
  • Snack basket
  • Relaxation kit: essential oils roll on, sleep mask, foot or hand treatment, scented candle, bath bombs

Boxes of Love

Boxes due by Sunday, December 5th

Once a year, Living Waters, in partnership with other churches, fills shoeboxes with various items (school supplies, toys, candy, soap, clothes, etc.) for the children in the Villages of Hope located in several locations in Zambia which are in southern Africa. The “Boxes of Love” project gives you a chance to pack a box for a child. When a child receives a box, they are reminded that they are loved by God and not forgotten.

This year the boxes have been pre-labelled by age and gender. All the instructions and item lists are in the boxes. You can pick up your box at Living Waters throughout November and must return the box by Sunday, December 5.

*please note: if you donate funds using the giving envelope in your box, please fill out all the fields in order to receive a tax receipt.

Christmas Gifts for Women's Prison

We have a wonderful opportunity to serve a local's women's prison again this Christmas. Since 2017, we have provided gift bags for each resident at this federal prison through Helping Hands. The response has been overwhelmingly positive! These gifts bags are the talk of the prison for months - even around the year! Memories of receiving these gifts often come up in conversations among both staff and residents. We need your help to pack these gift bags! In addition, we need volunteers who are willing to also hand write messages in Christmas greeting cards which will accompany each gift bag.
